Micaela is the daughter of Avram Goldstein-Goren and Stella Cukier; was born in Milan. As a Board Member of the Cukier Goldstein-Goren Foundation, she has served as Chief Financial Officer since 2002 and served as its President from 2015 to 2019.

Since 2003 she has been a member of the Council of the Jerusalem Foundation and of the CDEC (Contemporary Jewish Documentation Center). She was Councilor for several mandates of the Shoah Memorial (Pinario 21), of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, of the Academy of Arts and Crafts of La Scala, of the Chair of Judaica at the State University of Milan (1996-2012).

​Micaela graduated in Literature and Philosophy from the Catholic University of Milan, and after a Master's degree in Retail Management in Boston, she embarked on an entrepreneurial career by opening a textile purchasing office in Milan (1978-95). She participated in political life and was elected Regional Councilor of Lombardy in the 1995-2000 legislature and President of Municipality 1 of Milan 2005 -2011.

Micaela has 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
